Somebody Sample This

I have a running series on my Soundcloud page of sounds I encounter “in the wild”.

Since my focus with sound art is “sound as it exists in a space”, these are all interesting things that I’ve heard while out and about.

It’s a playlist of what different spaces sound like that anybody is free to take and remix as they see fit!

Ordered Noise

I also am digging into some analog fossils to reimagine them in chaotic yet ordered ways. Here’s a quick sample of something that I did recently for some reason

This is what happens when you get a cassette tape from a yard sale, and, of course you record it to your computer, because:

• It’s full of songs sung in the round

• The tape mentions that they’re more uncommon and obscure songs, too

• You play it back through a Tascam 4 track

  • Side A and Side B play at the same time

  • Side B is backwards

I have ideas. They will happen.
