Panhandlers Union is a group of boxcar rejects that play crunchy trashy punky folky songs about serial killers, whiskey, and trains.

This was a heavily local-gigging band, we played on average 3-4 shows a week all over San Jose during the summer of 2016.

I decided to play under the name of my Dungeons & Dragons character at the time:

Cacophony Jones.

I got to be known for throwing my neon hair around, as you can see in this early video of ours, a cover of Dahmer Does Hollywood by Amigo the Devil.

My first show with them, we roll up to the venue/bar, I take my bass Jolene out of her case…and the entire fingerboard falls off of it in one piece.

The Show. Must. Go On.

I think fast, I’m being introduced to the owner who’s making sure we’re all set for the show. I ask if he has any duct tape.

Instant punk cred.
