Hi, I’m Elliot

The story of Elliot Peeples begins in a sleepy Maryland mill town built in the 1700s, gets refracted through a prism of mid-20s spark-chasing, and the resulting human is a full-spectrum weirdo who has defined and redefined themself a million times over.

Their mission on this planet is to live a life worth telling stories about, and if you should cross their path and present an offering of a vegan burrito or nice hot cup of jasmine tea, they’ll tell you all about it via their one true passion: rambling.

In the absence of such pleasantries being easily transmitted via an electronic medium, I’ll attempt to summarize below:

For the last 25+ years, the Upright Bass has been not only their principal instrument but second language. From such beginnings, a deep abiding passion of inflicting one’s will on unsuspecting air molecules lead them to an obvious ends: touring the East Coast in various Steampunk and Indie Rock bands, and picking up another dozen or so instrument proficiencies in the process.

A lifetime of Makerdom was magnified by early experiments in Punk bands, multiplied by the DIY ethos of the Steampunk scene, and eventually scaled up to assisting with stage and prop builds for camps at festivals and burns.

In the realm of visual arts, the spirit of constant redefinition started out as comic drawing and interior design. Creating home decor statement pieces for themself and their friends from upcycled materials struck a chord in a major way, and they soon began creating found-item psychedelic sculpture and Urban Fantasy inspired lamps.

Musically, they have spent the last few years developing three projects in parallel: one which is a narrative concept album codenamed “Unicorn Laserbeam”, one which is an analysis of the importance of Urban Legends, and one that gives voice to toys in a way that examines the literal definition of “puppetry”.

what's [he] building in there?

Currently, the majority of their audio work has to do with sound art. They’re merging experiential insights from their lifetime of performing with groups ranging from trip-hop trios to full symphony orchestras, and the myriad oddball venues that came with the territory. Gathering inspiration from a more philosophical view of vibration and resonance, they hope to experiment with sound as it exists “in a space” and manipulate the listener’s reality as they experience it.

“The journey is what’s

important, not the destination.

Otherwise all of the great composers

would have only written finales”
